Independent desk

What The Indian Premium is, and what it is not

A plain note on who publishes the figures, how they are read, and where the money comes from.

The desk and its limits

The Indian Premium is an independent editorial desk. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. Its subject is one measurement: the domestic rate from the association's own publication, and the international price from two independent sources, converted to rupees a gram. The figures are republished with the date and the hour they were read, so a reader can trace each number back to its named public source.

The desk reads the sources on a set schedule and answers corrections. It does not estimate a shop's making charge, a bank's margin, or any sum that is not published. If a figure is wrong, the desk corrects it and dates the correction on the page. The desk is the responsible party named on the contact page, but no person is named, because the responsibility belongs to the desk itself, not to a single author.

No accounts or tracking

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. A reader can open every page without being asked for a name, an email address or a phone number. The desk does not build a profile of who reads which table.

The pages are served by a hosting provider which, like any web host, keeps its own technical request logs. Those logs are not used by the desk to read a reader's personal data. The desk does not sell data, because it does not collect any. The only record a reader leaves is the one the hosting provider keeps for its own operational purposes.

Affiliate link and broker commission

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link, and is paid a commission if a reader opens an account there. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. The commission is paid by the broker from its own revenue, not by adding a fee to the reader's transaction.

This is the only source of income for the desk. The desk does not sell subscriptions, does not run advertisements and does not accept payment for the figures it publishes. The figures are chosen because they are the ones a reader needs to check a price, not because a broker or a jeweller asks for them to be shown.

Not investment advice

Nothing on the site is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A reader who asks whether to buy gold, when to sell it, or how much to hold is asking a question this desk cannot answer. The desk can tell a reader what the published rate was at a given hour, and it can tell a reader which source that rate came from.

The broker's own site is operated by someone else, under its own terms and its own privacy policy. Following the link leaves this site and places the reader under the broker's rules, not the desk's. Writing to [email protected] reaches the desk, and a correction is the reason the address exists. A figure that is wrong is corrected and the correction is dated, so a reader can see what changed and when.
